Call for Entries: Amber Trip Art Jewellery Contest 2026 — “Mind the Gap”

Amber Trip invites jewellery artists worldwide to submit works for the 2026 Amber Trip Art Jewellery Contest in Vilnius.

Theme (2026): “Mind the Gap”

Chair of the jury, Mona Wallström (Sweden), explains:

Mind the gap!

The expression is used on train stations, in different languages, all over the world to make people aware of the space between the train and the platform. A gap between a moving vehicle and solid ground, a space to overbridge as a traveller.

As a metaphor the gap can describe certain phenomenon in our society; the widening income gap, cultural or information gaps etcetera. Cracks that are separating us from each other.

This in-between space can also be an opening to find alternatives to established truths. Sometimes, a crevice opens up, forcing action. A gap can be a void that calls upon being filled or a window that opens to possibilities. But it can also be a precipice to fall from.

A cancelled meeting creates a gap in the calendar and may give time to experience birdsong in the park or rediscover a loved author in the second-hand book shop. A lack of a common language can generate other ways of communication.

Falling into a gap can be a new beginning – or a mark of separation.

Mind the gap!
